You can walk in the shoes of your unhoused neighbors.
The Pilgrimage to New Beginnings
A Pilgrimage to New Beginnings is a three-day, 33-mile journey along the Razorback Greenway from Bentonville to Fayetteville.
From October 15–17, a small group of pilgrims will walk together through Northwest Arkansas, raising awareness and funds to help New Beginnings develop neighborhoods that end chronic homelessness.
Along the way, participants will experience the distance many unhoused neighbors regularly travel on foot, share meals and stories, and build relationships with one another and the communities they pass through.
The pilgrimage ends at New Beginnings’ Neighborhood of Cabins in Fayetteville, where every mile walked points toward the same destination: a community where people have a safe place to live, the support they need, and a path to a new beginning.

This Year's Pilgrimage
Walk
This year, walking pilgrim can choose between two ways to participate. Traditional Walkers will experience the full 33-mile journey along the Razorback Greenway, with meals, transportation, and overnight accommodations provided. Immersive Walkers will make the same journey while carrying what they need and navigating meals, transportation, and sleeping arrangements with limited resources, offering a deeper glimpse into the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness.
Run
For those who would rather run than walk, A Pilgrimage to New Beginnings offers the opportunity to experience the 33-mile Razorback Greenway as a one-day endurance challenge. Runners will travel from Bentonville to Fayetteville, raising funds and awareness for New Beginnings with every mile. Whether you take on the full distance or join as part of a relay team, it’s a chance to turn a personal challenge into something bigger: helping our neighbors move from chronic homelessness toward a new beginning.
Cycle
Sponsor
A Pilgrimage to New Beginnings is also an opportunity for businesses, organizations, and community partners to help make the journey possible. Sponsorships support the costs of the pilgrimage while helping walkers, runners, and cyclists raise critical funds for New Beginnings. Sponsors receive visibility throughout the event and, more importantly, become part of a community-wide effort to end chronic homelessness in Northwest Arkansas.
Volunteer
You don’t have to walk, run, or bike 33 miles to be part of A Pilgrimage to New Beginnings. Volunteers make the journey possible by helping with meals, transportation, gear, rest stops, logistics, and other needs along the route. Whether you can give a few hours or join us for an entire day, volunteering is a meaningful way to support the pilgrims and help New Beginnings end chronic homelessness in Northwest Arkansas.
